SARDINE presents a solo exhibition of new work by Stacy Fisher, titled 'How Far From Here'.
Stacy's work explores tactility through the language of abstraction, and for years has been oscillating between sculpture, painting, and paintings on paper. Each material presents it's own fragility. For this show, layered sheets of paper are crumpled and pasted together, painted and held up by push pins, sometimes propped or close to the floor. These colorful, loosely made paintings are approachable in their 'handmadeness'. The presence of cast-off pieces of wood bring this work into from illusionistic world of painting, into the real world we inhabit.
