"Eric Hibit and Wayne Koestenbaum: Paintings and Fables Artist’s Book Signing, Reading and Pop-Up" on Friday, October 6th, 6-9pm. Books will be available for purchase and Wayne Koestenbaum will give a reading at 7:30pm.

"Paintings and Fables" is a 42-page, limited edition, 8½ x 10¼,” full-color, hardcover artist’s book by Ortega y Gasset Projects Co-Director Eric Hibit. The book includes 19 of Hibit’s meticulous acrylic paintings, with fables written by Wayne Koestenbaum in response to selected works. Paintings and Fables is printed in a limited edition of 110 with each book containing hand-painted front and back endpapers by Hibit. The book is designed by Evan Gaffney.

Inspired by a vintage book of Japanese paintings, children’s books, and fairy tales, Paintings and Fables presents the reader with a non-linear narrative of words and images. With the impossible precision of a dream, Koestenbaum’s fables meander through scenarios inspired by Hibit’s paintings:

Books are $60 (includes tax, add $15 for shipping in the US):

The pop-up show of paintings by Eric Hibit will remain up throughout the weekend during special gallery hours of 3-6pm, Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8, 2017.
